Funding and Donating

Using easyfundraising, over 2,700 online retailers will give a donation every time you buy something, at no extra cost. Here's how it works...

1. START AT EASYFUNDRAISING.ORG (direct A2A link available soon)

Let’s say you want to buy a pair of shoes from John Lewis. Instead of going to johnlewis.com, you go to easyfundraising.org.uk first.

2. MAKE A PURCHASE

Easyfundraising sends you to the John Lewis website to make your purchase. The price of the shoes is exactly the same as if you’d visited John Lewis directly.

3. THE RETAILER DONATES TO DECIBELS

You’ve now bought your shoes for the normal price, but because you started through easyfundraising John Lewis will now make a donation to Decibels as a thankyou for shopping for them. easyfundraising collect these donations for us, and it costs you nothing!

Leave Decibels a Gift in your Will
Donate a gift to Ability2Access in your Will and leave a legacy that will live on

Gifts in Wills provide a vital source of funding for Ability2Access.  Leaving a gift in your will is a simple yet meaningful way of leaving a lasting gift.

HOW TO LEAVE A GIFT IN YOUR WILL
We recommend that you seek the advice of a solicitor to ensure that your wishes are carried out correctly

If you are writing your Will for the first time, then all you need to do is make your solicitor aware of your plan to leave a gift to Ability2Access.

If you have already written your Will, then you just need to make a simple addition or amendment to your Will. To do this you just need to provide your solicitor with a completed Codicil Form. You can find this attached.

There are several ways you are able to leave a gift

A residuary legacy:  This is a percentage of what remains of your estate after all other gifts and expenses have been paid.
Example wording: ‘I give to Ability2Access, Room 119, Building LO 24, Learning Hub, Institute of Education,
University of Reading, London Road, Reading, Berkshire, RG1 5AQ, Registered Charity No. 1100753 & Company Registered No. 3744874 all [or ……% share] of my residuary estate for its general charitable purposes. I declare that the receipt of the duly Authorised Officer shall be a full and sufficient discharge to my executors.’

A pecuniary legacy:  This is a gift of a fixed sum of money.
Example wording:  ‘I give to Ability2Access, Room 119, Building LO 24, Learning Hub, Institute of Education,
University of Reading, London Road, Reading, Berkshire, RG1 5AQ, Registered Charity No. 1100753 & Company Registered No. 3744874 free of all tax the sum of £…… for its general charitable purposes. I declare that the receipt of the duly authorised Officer shall be a full and sufficient discharge to my executors.’

A specific legacy:  a specific gift or object, such as property, stocks and shares or personal items such as jewellery.

If you have already made a Will and the only change you want to make is a bequest to Ability2Access, please complete the attached form, sign it in the presence of two witnesses who will also need to sign the form where indicated. The codicil should be kept with your Will.
